Photoshoot – 3rd July
Another pleasant evening and another successful outdoor photoshoot, this time at Lymefield Visitor Centre, Broadbottom. Lauren was again our model.
Photoshoot – 26th June
We took advantage of the warm weather and extended daylight to have a photoshoot on the cricket club car park. We had the use of several 'exotic' cars and asked Lauren to model for us. The result was a very productive session.
Battle with Oldham Photographic Society
We hosted a battle with Oldham PS, which was judged by Keith Barber from Swinton & District PS. There were sixty PDIs (thirty from each club) and after totalling up the points, SPC was pronounced the creditable runner–up, with 477 points. Congratulations go to the winners, Oldham PS, who amassed the grand total of 492 points.
Thanks to Keith for giving his time and expertise and to Oldham PS for making the evening a success.
Mobile Phone Night
We had an interesting evening exploring the possibilities of mobile phone photography. Thanks to Peter Gillooly for the image above, taken on his phone.
Photographers of the Year 2016
- Jen Barnes receiving her DPI Photographer of the Year trophy
- Charlie Saycell receiving his Print Photographer of the Year trophy
- Mike Wheeller accepting his award
At the Christmas social evening held on 19th December last Keith, our Chairman, announced that the Club's 2016 DPI Photographer of the Year was Jen Barnes and that Charlie Saycell was the Print Photographer of the Year and he duly presented them with their trophies and a bottle of wine each.
Also during the evening Keith presented Mike Wheeller with a glass tankard and some beer to fill it in recognition that Mike has been Treasurer since the inception of the Club in 1979.
